When choosing geogrids for gravel driveways, the key factors are restricting gravel displacement, enhancing foundation stability and weather resistance. Three suitable product types are recommended:
Biaxially stretched plastic geogrids (PP material): Cost-effective, their grid structure can interlock with gravel to disperse loads and reduce settlement. They are UV-resistant and acid-alkali resistant, suitable for ordinary household or light-load gravel driveways.
Polyester warp-knitted geogrids: With high tensile strength and low elongation, they have strong bite force with soil/gravel, effectively preventing driveway cracking. Wear-resistant and long-lasting, they are suitable for medium-heavy load gravel driveways (e.g., for small trucks).

Professional Installation Process of Geogrids (Simplified Version)
1. Pre-installation Preparation: Clear debris from the construction site and compact the foundation (compaction degree ≥ 93%, flatness error within ±5cm). Verify that the geogrid model matches the design requirements, check for no damage, then cut it according to the site size with a 10-15cm overlap reserved. Prepare light-duty rollers (1-2t), anchor pins (HDPE/galvanized steel, 15-30cm long), and hot-air welding machines (for plastic geogrids).
2. Laying and Fixing: Lay the geogrids along the main load direction (e.g., the driving direction of the driveway) while keeping them flat and wrinkle-free. For longitudinal splicing, use overlapping (10-15cm) or welding (weld seam ≥ 5cm for plastic geogrids); the transverse overlap should be ≥ 10cm. Fix the geogrids with anchor pins in a “plum-blossom” pattern—pin spacing is 50-80cm at the edges, 100-150cm in the middle, and reduced to 30-50cm in sandy soil/slope areas.
3. Backfilling and Rolling: Conduct backfilling within 12 hours. Use gravel/soil with particle size ≤ 5cm for the first layer, with a thickness of 15-20cm, and perform static rolling with a light-duty roller (speed ≤ 2km/h). For subsequent backfilling in layers (20-30cm per layer), ensure the soil covering the geogrids is ≥ 30cm thick when using heavy-duty rolling.
